How do you sign up for utilities? All you have to do is visit the utility office. Here you will make the necessary deposits.
New customers will be requested to supply their social security number. If you are a renter, you will need a new tenant verification form signed by your landlord.
HOW DO I GET UTILITIES?
Once you are in the office, we will ask that you fill out a residential or commercial application, make the necessary deposits, and show identification. A copy of your driver's license will be kept on file. If you are renting a property, a City of Rensselaer new tenant verification form will be required before utility services will be issued. If you purchased a property, a copy of the warranty deed will be kept on file.
