Services
The City of Rensselaer Sanitation Department picks up trash in the City of Rensselaer only. The City of Rensselaer has issued 95 gallon and 35 gallon trash cans. These are the ONLY cans that the city will pick-up. If you need an extra pick-up on your trash day contact the City of Rensselaer Sanitation Department at (219) 866-7833 for information on the extra fee. The monthly fee for trash effective 1-1-2022 is $18.40 per month. For extra trash to be picked up residents will need to contact the City of Rensselaer Sanitation at (219) 866-7833. The link below leads you to the new trash ordinance which shows the fee adjustments effective through 2023.
